Martinborough is home to some of the finest Pinot Noir on the planet, wines that consistently win international awards but rarely leave the region. The producers here are small, many making fewer than 5,000 bottles a year. You won’t find them on supermarket shelves. The only way to taste them is at the cellar door.
That’s where I come in. As a French-trained chef born and raised in Wellington, I’ve spent close to three decades building relationships with Martinborough’s winemakers, growers, and food artisans. I know who’s making the best vintage this year, which producers welcome visitors with open arms, and crucially, which wines pair best with the local food.
This isn’t a bus tour ticking off the big-name cellar doors. When you join me for a Martinborough wine tour, you’ll meet the actual winemakers, walk through their vines, and taste wines that most visitors to New Zealand never discover. And because I’m a trained chef, I’ll make sure you understand not just what you’re drinking, but what to eat with it.
