Meet Aaron

A French-trained Kiwi Chef and Hobby Historian Who Fell in Love with Sharing Wellington

I come from a family of pie makers and French pâtissiers. My grandmother always said the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach, and she was right. That philosophy has stayed with me throughout my years as a French-trained chef, born and raised in Wellington, and it still shapes how I guide tours today.

For nearly three decades, I’ve been introducing visitors to the real Wellington, the one locals know. That means cellar doors where the winemaker pours your glass themselves, kitchens where chefs step out to say hello, and family-run producers who love sharing their craft. These aren’t places you stumble across. They’re places you’re invited into.

Alongside my culinary background, I’m a hobby historian with a deep passion for Wellington’s stories from early settlement to film-making legends. Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with winemakers, growers, chefs, and small‑batch artisans. I know the back roads, the hidden viewpoints, and the people who make this region special. When you travel with Kosher Tours and Travel, you’re not getting a scripted tour. You’re getting genuine introductions to the owners, the makers, and the characters who bring Wellington to life.

Whether you want to taste award-winning Pinot Noir, meet the people behind your favourite bottles, stand where Frodo once walked, or simply experience Wellington the way Wellingtonians do, I’d love to show you my corner of the world.

What Makes Us Different

Wellington-Born, Wellington-Raised

This isn’t a job, it’s home. Our team grew up here, lives here, and knows Wellington the way only locals can. We’ve spent years building relationships with winemakers, discovering hidden gems, and understanding what turns a simple day out into an unforgettable experience. That depth of local connection is something no guidebook or script can replace.

Local Experts Who Know Every Corner

Our guides don’t read from scripts. They know where to find the views that never make the guidebooks, which wineries pour their best bottles, and exactly where to stand for the perfect photo. Their lived experience gives you access to the real Wellington, the one visitors rarely see.

Relationships Built Over Decades

We have personal access to Martinborough’s best micro-winery producers, crafting fewer than 20,000 bottles a year. We know the film locations most bus tours drive straight past. These aren’t things you can Google. These connections are built through trust, time, and genuine relationships.

Small, Intimate, Family‑Feel Experiences

We’re not a big tour company with a call centre and a fleet of buses. When you book with us, you’re dealing directly with the people who will guide you. Some operators sell the luxury packaging, the five-star labels, and the premium price tags. We prefer the real thing: warm hospitality, personal attention, and treating guests like friends, not customers. That’s the difference between a tour and a memory.

Private or Shared — Your Choice

If you want the tour all to yourself, our private tours let you set the pace, customise the itinerary, and stop wherever you like. Prefer to meet fellow travellers and keep costs down? Join one of our shared tours. Either way, you get the same local expertise and personal care.

Modern Vehicles & Reliable Service

We operate modern, comfortable vehicles and pride ourselves on punctuality. Cruise‑ship guests are met at the Wellington Cruise Terminal with a signboard at their designated time. We’re fully insured, and our drivers are experienced professionals who know Wellington’s roads, weather, and terrain inside out.
